what is slickfest?

slickfest is an omegaverse fanfiction fest for the stray kids fandom!all works created for this event must be omegaverse. however, we encourage fics for all ships of all dynamics! beta representation! ot8! omega/omega action! have fun with classic omegaverse, or get creative and take the non-trad route!let's get slickful :-)

fest rules !

Ω all participants must be 18+ years old
Ω final submissions must be a minimum of 1000 words and complete at the time of submission. there is no maximum word count.
Ω you may only claim one prompt at a time, including self-prompting. this means: to claim a second prompt, your first claim must be complete and submitted.
Ω dropouts are allowed at any time*, please check the drop/swaps section of this carrd linked in the directory for more info!
Ω any genre or combination of tropes is allowed, as long as the focus of the fic is still omegaverse.
Ω underage nsfw content is strictly prohibited in this fest. everything else is okay, but it must be tagged correctly!*failure to follow the correct dropout process may result in being barred from participating in future rounds.

how to join !

Ω claim a prompt by viewing our prompt masterlist and choosing your top 3-5 choices. you can also submit just one, but we recommend giving some options in case you do not get your highest priority.
Ω instead of claiming, you can also self-prompt!
Ω once you receive your claim confirmation through e-mail, you are welcome to start writing!
Ω by EOD august 1st, submit your check-in form to let us know you're still participating. the form will be sent through e-mail.
Ω submit your completed fic to our ao3 collection by november 1st. please view the submission section of this carrd linked in the directory for full submission instructions!
Ω if you would like to claim another prompt or self-prompt after submitting your fic, you can repeat this process!

can i still claim a prompt?
yes, the claim form will stay open until a few days to a week before the submission deadline!how do i see available prompts?
our prompt masterlist is done through notion and can be found here. when viewing the prompts, you can filter by "available" or "unavailable" by clicking the different table views. anything in the "available" section is up for claim!how do i claim the prompt i want?
fill out the claiming form! we will ask you for the prompt codes of your top 3-5 choices. prompt codes are in the format "XX000" - the initials of the pairing followed by three prompt identification numbers.what if there's only one prompt i want to write?
you can fill in prompt choices 2 and 3 as "N/A." however, please be aware that if someone else requests the same prompt before you, it will go to them!what if i want to write more than one prompt?
you can only claim one prompt at a time. this is the most fair process for everyone! if you want to claim another prompt, you can check if it is still available after you submit your first claim.

Ω self-prompts must follow the same guidelines as our regular prompts and claims. this means: main pairing is between skz members, the prompt is omegaverse, and it does not include any underage nsfw content.
Ω your self-prompt cannot be something that is already on the prompt masterlist, even if it is for a different ship!
Ω you cannot submit a self-prompt if you have claimed a regular prompt.
Ω to submit a self-prompt, submit the correct google form. we will contact you through email to confirm that we have received it. then, you can begin writing!

how to submit your fic !

1. post your fic to our ao3 collection. you can do this by:

2. fill out the fic submission form. you need to do this as soon as you upload your fic so that we can make your graphic!3. that's it! after submission, you can either claim another prompt, submit a self-prompt, or celebrate because you're done!

Ω your final fic must be a minimum of 1000 words. there is no maximum word count!
Ω chaptered fics are allowed - the only rule is that it must be complete at the time of submission!
Ω your additional tags should, at the very least, include: "Omega Verse" or "Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics" or "Nontraditional Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics", any subgenders of main members, and any important TWs or CWs.
Ω your fic MUST BE tagged correctly, please make sure you include any and all relevant tags, especially for sensitive content.
Ω in your beginning notes, please make sure to mention the prompt code somewhere.

what is a beta reader?

in general, a beta reader is a person who reads through a fic and provides feedback about it! the specifics of what kind of feedback they give is up to the author and the beta to discuss.some examples include: brainstorming, reading the completed fic and giving an overall opinion without edits, general spelling or grammar edits, plot, pacing, characterization, plot holes or plot points, etc. the list goes on and the possibilities are endless!for more info, click on the button below that best suits you! become a slickfest beta reader !

Ω by signing up to become a beta reader, you are agreeing to be assigned to an author and helping them with their fic.
Ω when filling out the form, you can indicate which areas you would like to help with, and which ones you wouldn't; this ensures that you will be matched with an author whose beta reading needs match your beta reading abilities!
Ω after submitting your form, we will add you to our public list of beta readers.
Ω authors can review the list and request you as a beta reader. we will verify that your information matches up; if it's a match, we'll forward your contact info!
Ω on the form, you can also choose to provide approval of your match before we send your contact info.ocan i volunteer later?

Ω you can either request a specific beta reader from our public list, or ask the mods to find a beta reader from the list for you.
Ω once we verify your information and make sure it matches the beta reader's, we will send you an email with their contact info. after that, you can reach out to them and start working together!
odo i need a beta reader?
no, you are not required to have a beta reader for your slickfest fic. however, we encourage submitting an edited work for the fest.can i use my own beta reader?
yes! beta readers do not have to be done through slickfest. if you have your own, or would like to ask someone yourself, you're more than welcome to!can i request a beta reader closer to the deadline?
yes, the request form will stay open. please make sure to be considerate of your beta reader's time though, so submit your request when they will have a reasonable amount of time to review your fic!

dropping out of the fest !

Ω if you need to drop out of the fest for any reason, you must let us know that you are dropping out by filling out the form.
Ω failure to notify us (ghosting) may result in being barred from participating in future rounds.
Ω you do not need to give us the reason why! you just need to fill out the form so that we know you are no longer participating :)

swapping prompts !

Ω swapping means dropping your current prompt for a new one. you are welcome to do this at any time!
Ω again, you don't need to tell us the reason, you just need to submit the form.
Ω dropped prompts will be up for claim again!

if the prompt does not get claimed by someone else before reveals, you can finish writing the fic on your own time and submit it to our off-season collection after author reveals!do you accept cross-posting with other events?
yes, cross-posting is fine, but we recommend checking the timelines! our fic reveals are not until november, so it may not be possible to submit your slickfest fic for an event that ends before that.what order will fics be revealed in?
fics will be revealed based on a combination of factors, mainly pairing and member subgenders. if you request an extension and submit your fic after posting begins, it will likely be near the end of the reveals!can we share wips?
since this is an anonymous event, we ask everyone to avoid sharing any wips or discussing their prompt publicly.can i stay anonymous after fic reveals?
yes, you can choose to stay anonymous, but you would need to dm or email us! we take the entire collection off anon at one time so we would need you to mark your fic specifically as anonymous when the time comes.i have a question that isn't answered here!
